How to manually download Windows 10 version 2004

If you don’t see the new Windows 10 version 2004 upgrade under “Update and Security” in the Settings app, don’t worry. You can download the Windows 10 May 2020 update manually.

  1. Navigate to Microsoft’s Software Download page here (opens in new tab). You should see the words “Windows 10 May 2020 Update” emblazoned across the page.
  2. Click on Upgrade Now. This should download the installation assistant for Windows 10 version 2004. Click on the file named “Windows10Upgrade9252.exe.”
  3. A window with the message “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” may appear. Click on “Yes.”
